Hey,
Where does Gryba fit in (assuming he's healthy)?
I've got him as a cheap depth dman on my fantasy team. Just wanting to know if he's expected to be getting consistent minutes this year. |

assuming he is healthy; IMO he is battling Joe Corvo for the 6th d spot. I like his chances of taking that spot if Corvo's offense isnt needed. ANd I think Karlsson and Weircioch can handle it making him expendable. |

Sounds like a minor groin injury for Spezza, phew |

Bang on, I see a rotation depending on the opponent. Ex. Corvo in vs Wings/Habs out vs Bruins/Leafs |

These seem to happen a lot in pre season, I think it's jsut players coming back and not being used to game speed and you tweak something. |

They are doing the right thing. Only cure is rest and light workouts. I had one a couple of years ago and it was a pain. I always felt it would pop if I pushed too hard. |

In theory the Sens, with Ziba and Turris, should have enough depth at centre to survive without Spezza for a short period of time.
The thing is, Turris has kinda underwhelmed, as he fed off Alfie's production, and while I think Zabi will be an excellent power forward someday, he simply isn't ready for the workload. |

We don't have anyone in the organization to replace Spezza. The chances of Lazer, Zibby, Turris, Pag, Prince, Da Costa, etc of becoming consistent 80 point players is almost nil.
It should not be a concern as a healthy Spezza should be productive for a good 5-7 more years, as long as he stays healthy, which is a concern at the moment, but hopefully it becomes a thing of the past. |

he hasn't even played a full season for Ottawa yet. I'd say he did an excellent job last season in Spezza's absense. |

He did alright IMO. Not as well as i'd hoped, but made up for it with a very strong playoff performance.
This season he's gotta be more consistent point wise. |

Spezza looks alright skating on his own, I don't think there is any reason for all this panic, the 4th is 6 days away. |

The fact that he matched the point total from his first season with Ottawa, while playing tougher mintues in encouraging.
29 pts in 48 games is is pretty solid. Dustin Brown and Loui Eriksson put up the same amount of points and look what they are getting paid compared to Turris.
Patrice Bergeron only had 32 points ( played 2 less games). |

Just be aware of games played. He may not get as many starts as other goalies. My guess 50-55 games. I think Lehner will get at least 20 starts. Similar to the Thomas/Rask split 3 years ago. |

This is actually precautionary. He can't go full out yet. Should be good by next Friday. |

Erikson has been a 70+ point guy the previous 3 seasons. Main reason why he gets a lot more money.
Brown is a leader and and hits like no tomorrow while putting up solid numbers. Main reason why he gets paid a lot more money.
Patrice Bergeron is one of the best defensive forwards in the game today and has been a 70+ point player in this league. Main reason why he gets paid a lot more money.
I like Turris as much as the next Sen fan, but lets not get ridiculous. I'd swap Turris for any of those guys straight up. I expect Turris to make a significant leap this season to become a guy you can mention with other NHLers as listed, but he isn't there yet. |

Ya totally. My poolies and I made goaltending a little less important this year so I guy like Anderson may be all I really need. (And a 2nd guy of similar value/games they'll play) |

You're missing my point. Of course I am not saying he is as good as those guys. But in terms of what he put up last season, looking around the league, I can't see how anyone can call him a disappointment. The Sens are getting getting a good player at excellent value right now in terms offensive production. |

We should have a fantasy hockey blog - Sens addition here. Most drafts I assume will be taking place the next few days. |

We can't call him a disappointment because he faired well in comparison to players who had disappointing seasons production-wise. Got it.
In all fairness, Turris is a steal with the contract he has. If he has reached his potential ceiling now, it's still a great deal, I just see him becoming even better. |
